Watching discussion on budget in Lok Sabha today I heard an MP in Lok Sabha talking about need of having poor people in parliament. His points were valid. The average assets of people entering parliament is increasing, so parliament is becoming a place for the rich.
The same rich MPs decide on schemes for the poor like NREGA etc. The same rich MPs want 33% reservation for women. But think about this idea -- wont' it be much better to have 33% reservation for poor people in parliament. And if we define poor to mean poor in relative sense to today's rich MPs, then lot of educated and qualified people can get into parliament.
Have 33% reservation for non-rich men in parliament.
Have 33% reservation for non-rich women in parliament.
And let's open the doors to true democracy.
